What are some low-calorie snacks that can help weight with weight loss?

Snacks are a great for soothing over the time between one meal and another. Sometimes we want to extend our time between meals, and healthy, nutritious snacks can help us do so.

7 healthy snacks that help with weight loss.

  1. Nuts, such as almonds, walnuts and pecans. These are a powerhouse snack, filled with good fats, fibre and protein. They are also known to help you burn body fat, and eliminate cravings. One thing to note, is that nuts are best eaten in moderation. Although they are high in fat, the benefits out weight the calories.
  2. Yoghurt and mixed berries. Depending on your dairy preference, you can have coconut or Greek yoghurt at hand. Make sure it’s natural, and completely sugar free. This snack is high in protein, as well as giving you an antioxidant boost from the powerful compounds of berries.
  3. Kale chips. These are so easy to make yourself. It’s also a great way to use your left over Kale. Just place them on a tray, in the oven on a very low heat setting. Let it crisp up to your liking, and add salt to taste.
Kale decreases your blood pressure as well as being loaded with antioxidants and fibre. Because they are portable, you can easily take these with you to work, or have a snack at anytime.
  4. Chia pudding. I absolutely love these (and have a recipe for them on my website. See below) They are such a wonderful snack, almost like you are indulging in a treat! Chia has lots of fibre, keeping you full for longer, and is great for those who are vegan. Chia seeds help to reduce inflammation and improve your heart health. Add them to coconut milk or cream, put in some protein powder, cinnamon and flaxseeds. Allow to set in your fridge, and you have a healthy snack.
  5. Eggs. I can’t say enough fantastic things about eggs. Alone, they have protein, vitamins, minerals and the most top of the range weight loss foods you can eat regularly. Best still, they do not have an effect on your risk of heart disease, as they once were labeled.
  6. Protein shake. Protein shakes are a great alternative, if you can’t get to food or have run out of time! Protein helps you to improve fat loss, body composition and increase satiety. You can also use protein powder in any of your snacks, adding to it’s nutritional value.
  7. Dried coconut flakes. This is absolutely delicious! It’s so portable, and really takes the edge off your hunger and cravings. Coconut contains medium chain fats that increase your metabolism, promoting weight loss and improving your brain function. Just make sure you eat only unsweetened versions. Sugar is not permitted in a weight loss protocol!

I do hope these points give you some good ideas for your snacks. Good luck on your journey to great health and vitality.
