Pull Apart Herb Butter Bread
A delicious pull-apart herb bread, to enjoy with a salad or any meal during the week
Ingredients
For the dough
- 4 cups Bead flour
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Yeast
- 2 cups Warm water
- 1 tsp Salt
For the herb bread
- 1/2 cup Plant butter
- 1/4 cup Herbs
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
For the dough
- In a large bowl, add the flour and salt. Mix to combine
- Add the yeast and honey to the warm water and mix until the honey dissolves. Please wait until the water bubbles to use it (should take about 10 minutes)
- Add the water to your flour and salt mix when it has bubbled. Stir to combine, and then add more flour if the dough is too sticky. Begin to knead the dough when it's all mixed in. Prepare to get your hands filled with dough!
- Once you find that the dough is smooth, and doesn't stick too much, test it with your finger to see if you press it and it bounces back. Then it's ready
- Place in a clean bowl, cover with cling wrap, and let it rest for one hour.
- Every hour, stretch and sweep the dough, then cover and allow to rest. Keep this up for about three hours (yes, I know it's long!)
- Sprinkle some flour on your working surface
- Roll out the dough into a square. Add the herb butter, and then cut into squares. Fill the baking tray with the squares until you have none left (See the YouTube video)
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush on more butter on the top, serve with your meal of the day/night
