Once you stop fasting and continuously eat during the day, you will gain the weight back and even more so every day. If you think about fasting as a lifestyle plan, rather than something you do for a short period, and then don’t – you will have a much more successful time decreasing your stored body fat and keeping it off for life. There are many other ways you can manipulate your diet to get great fat loss results. For instance, you can carb cycle, do a little bit of keto, and try a few specific fat loss strategies with exercise. There are endless possibilities as to what you can experiment with. For many people, abstaining from food is a tricky thing, but let me tell you this: once you start doing it regularly, you will never look back. Your body will automatically stop feeling the hunger that was once unbearable to you. I won’t lie. in the beginning, it’s very challenging to overcome. But with anything that we chance in our lives, it becomes pretty tricky, and then it’s a lot easier.
Eating more without realising
Just think of meal consumption in this way – when you allow more time to eat, you will naturally consume more calories. Sometimes, it will be more calories than you need – and at other times, it may be balanced or less. The whole point of Intermittent Fasting is lowering your insulin so that your body can start burning stored body fat for energy – rather than resorting to what’s immediately there from all that food consumption. Sometimes we can unconsciously eat more calories than we become aware of. This is something to keep your eye on whether you do or don’t fast. For instance, do you feel like eating something when under stress? I’m a bit of a chewer, and I can get carried away with the art of chewing when I don’t need to. For me, it’s a comfort thing during times of stress, and it can get out of hand. Now I know my trigger, I use something else as a calming aid. It could be a nice cup of tea (i stay away from high-grade stimulants like coffee) or some herbs.
Discipline
Remember when you fast that the commitment is made to stop eating at a particular time and then begin eating again? Now that you don’t have restrictions, it can make or break your nutritional plan. This is one of the best ways to control your calories and allow your body to break from digesting; then, you can enable more hydration for your body. What you can do instead is to be very strict with yourself. For instance, maybe one of your new rules would be to not snack between certain times and just drink water no matter what.
Binge eating
It’s effortless to get into the habit of binge eating after a fast – or perhaps you binge eat just before you start your brief, in fear of getting hungry. It’s challenging to have self-control over your emotions. The emotion of not having enough and gorging is very well known in dieting. As easy as it is for me to tell you not to do this, it is another thing to believe when something inside of you isn’t right. To this, I say, please don’t strive for the perfect fasting or eating plan routine. Aim for doing your very best and not being afraid of what lies ahead of your 16–20 or whatever hours you chose to fast. Hunger is natural, and it’s not going to cause damage to you. Remind yourself that you will eat again and that this isn’t too much of a big deal. It isn’t. This is one of the many challenges we all face, yet it’s so significant when you think about everything else going on in the world. To put this all into perspective, the only way to not put on weight is to stick with the fasting routine as a life plan. Why would you choose to do anything else when Intermittent fasting is a way to mitigate metabolic adaptation regarding the longevity benefits of calorie restriction. Apart from any other diet, the fasted state is a much more potent trigger of autophagy than calorie restriction, and you can still eat sufficient calories after breaking the fast. At the same time, still getting most of the benefits – it’s calorie restriction without starvation. The choice is yours really, but I believe you will enjoy the help so much that the slightly uncomfortable feelings once in a while will surely make up for it.
